A Unique Architectural Marvel
A newly completed home near Cleveland has a unique claim to fame: it's a Frank Lloyd Wright house. The renowned architect, who passed away in 1959, originally submitted his design for this private home in the 1950s, but it was never built. Fast forward to 2018, when the family that purchased the wooded property decided to bring Wright's vision to life.
According to reports from Axios and the News-Herald, the construction has recently wrapped up, and the Dykstra family is now making the "RiverRock" home available for rental, with rates starting at $800 a night. Staying True to Wright's Vision
Owner Sarah Dykstra shared insights on the building process, stating, "When we set out to build this home, we gave a mandate to the professional team involved: If you must change something due to current building regulations, code, products, etc., do so under the 'skin' so the house will look exactly the same."
Nestled on 30 acres along the Chagrin River, the home incorporates much local stone, adhering to Wright's principle of having designs fit naturally into their surroundings.
