Design Concept
The design of the Sea House is inspired by the ancient Indian step wells, characterized by a long flight of steps that provide access to fluctuating water levels. This unique design element serves as a central feature of the house, creating a seamless connection between the various spaces across its five floors.
Site and Surroundings
The house is built on a site that was once home to a baori (fresh-water well), a rare find in coastal areas. This historical element is integrated into the design, with the water bodies being a focal point in the layout. The architecture not only respects the traditional principles of Vaastu but also adapts to the contemporary lifestyle of its inhabitants.

Architectural Features
The house features a stone masonry enclosure that acts as a visual and sound barrier from the outside world while opening up to serene internal spaces. The thin concrete tubes stacked on the stone base frame views of the surrounding landscape, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow within the home.
Conclusion
The Sea House is a stunning example of how architecture can blend tradition and modernity, providing a functional yet beautiful living space that respects its historical context while catering to contemporary needs.
