Principal Character Artist

We are Spliced Inc. and we’re looking for a Principal Environment Artist.

The Role:

As a Principal Artist at Spliced Inc, you’ll be helping establish Character Art for key areas of the game and be at home working on a stylized AAA title.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the Character Art department, you will be integral to helping establish benchmark assets, authoring pipelines and best practices for the team whilst working closely with the Lead Artist, Concept team and Character Art Director. Additionally:

• Collaborate with your Lead and other departments to understand and implement the artistic vision and style of the game.
• Establish Art benchmarks for different areas of the Character Art pipeline.
• Establish key hero assets for production.
• Help define working practices and ensure authored content is adhering to any defined structures and standards.
• Effectively communicate with other art disciplines, design, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of assets into the project.
• Guide and mentor more junior members of the team, outsource partners and co dev.

About You:

• Demonstrable experience working on a AAA title.
• Expert knowledge of industry-standard software such as Maya, Zbrush, Painter, Marvelous etc.
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• A love of stylised artwork / games
• Experience creating visually compelling Characters whilst adhering to technical guidelines and budgets.
• Experience working through the full Character pipeline from greybox to final a game ready character.
• Can work autonomously on tasks and can be proactive in communicating with other disciplines.
