🧙‍♂️ BASIC CONTEXT:

We are "Soul Atlas," a company crafting an immersive high fantasy universe filled with imposing golems, smart wizards, strange creeds, and ancient secrets. Our world spans multiple forms of media—films, games, music, comic books, and more.

🚀 2025 will be a monumental year! We’re preparing for the release of our first 25min live action short film, Leilani, alongside several exciting projects, including a massive orchestral concert, a TTRPG game release, a graphic novel release (Issue #1 Season 1) and the revamp of our existing website and the launch of our brand-new e-shop end May 2025 to showcase high-quality prints and exclusive merchandise.

🎯 WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A rebellious, no bs Web Designer who thrives on combining sleek, intuitive user experience that converts with diegetic, creative designs. You’ll play a key role in revamping our current website (WordPress, Thrive Architect) and building our new e-shop on Shopify, ensuring it reflects the epic storytelling and visual artistry that defines Soul Atlas.

You know how to:

✅ Design Seamless UX/UI: Craft beautiful, functional designs that optimise user journeys and enhance the customer experience.

✅ Create with Purpose: Develop visually striking and meaningful pages that tell the story of Soul Atlas while driving conversions.

✅ Optimise: Ensure the new site and e-shop are designed with SEO best practices and mobile responsiveness in mind.

👀 You thrive on:

• Balancing aesthetic design with data-driven decisions.
• Understanding user behaviour to create engaging experiences.
• Designing for scalability as Soul Atlas expands its product offerings.

💡 YOUR SKILLSET:

✅ Web Design Expertise: Proficiency in designing modern, responsive websites with a focus on UX/UI.

✅ Shopify Savvy: You are able to support the existing Shopify team with your designs and improvements in conversion.

✅ SEO and Performance Knowledge: Ability to implement best practices to improve search visibility and site speed.

✅ Graphic Design Proficiency: Strong command of design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar platforms.

✅ Understanding of E-Commerce Funnels: Knowledge of CRO (conversion rate optimisation) and how to design pages that drive sales.

✅ Willingness to pick up Thrive Architect: We are not looking for someone to handmake the website or build it on an expensive platform. We own a copy of Thrive Architect, which is no-to-low-code and with 2-4 hours of experience let’s you focus entirely on making the design happen.

🎁 Bonus Points:

🎮 Familiarity with Fantasy, Gaming, and Pop Culture Communities: An understanding of what resonates with our core audience.

📊 Experience with A/B Testing: Optimising design elements through experimentation.

💻 Basic Coding Skills: Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Liquid (Shopify’s templating language) is a plus.

📚 YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

✅ Revamp the Existing Website: Redesign and optimise the Soul Atlas site to enhance UX, improve content flow, and drive engagement.

✅ Design and Launch Our Shopify E-Shop: Create a visually captivating and user-friendly online store that highlights Soul Atlas’ prints, merchandise, and future product lines.

✅ Ensure Seamless Navigation and Conversion: Design intuitive pathways that guide visitors from discovery to opt-in to our mailing list or purchase.

✅ Optimise for Mobile and SEO: Ensure a responsive design that performs flawlessly across devices and ranks well in search engines.

✅ Collaborate with Content and Marketing Teams: Align web designs with storytelling, marketing goals, and launch strategies.

✅ Test and Refine Designs: Continuously analyse user behaviour, iterate on designs, and optimise the site for improved performance.

📅 HOW WE BEGIN:

In the beginning, you will:

✅ Immerse Yourself in the World of Soul Atlas: Understand the lore, art, and storytelling behind our universe.

✅ Analyse Our Current Site: Identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.

✅ Build base sites: You will get copy and graphic elements to create a homepage, about page and four simple landing pages with a mailing list opt-in.

✅ Develop an E-Shop Strategy: Map out the user journey for the new Shopify store and define key design elements.

✅ Collaborate with the Marketing and Merchandise Teams: Ensure the site and e-shop align with upcoming product launches, including the concert on the 4th of May and the premiere of Leilani and other key projects.

We will do our utmost to onboard you in a way that you can hit the ground running and begin to fully own the web design as soon as possible.

⏰ TIME INVESTMENT:

💡 10-12 hours/week – more if your circumstances allow. We’re open to this being a side hustle! Taking time off for personal reasons or vacation is always possible (within reason).

💸 COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

💰 Salary: There is no salary at this stage. Salary may kick in early next year, but it depends on many factors, most of which are in your control.

📈 Shares: You will be compensated with shares in the company that entitle you to a revenue share. These shares can later be bought back by the company at a multiple, giving you the potential for high returns if the company grows profitably. We can go into the details during the interview. Essentially, you become an investor through your time and effort, with the potential for significant returns.
