Product Designer - Consumer Mobile

Open Rewards provides a shop-local rewards platform enabling cities to influence local spending in real time. Within a few years of launch, the platform has expanded to 100+ cities, generating substantial economic impacts and consistently delivering over 24X ROI.

We are funded by notable pre-seed and seed stage investors including the Alchemist Accelerator, Govtech Fund, and Stanford Impact Fund.

Role Description

We’re looking for a Consumer Mobile Product Designer to craft intuitive, elegant experiences for our mobile platform. You’ll play a key role in shaping the user experience of a new, category-defining product - owning the design process from concept through execution.

This is a hands-on role for someone who cares deeply about user behavior, sweats the details, and knows how to balance aesthetics with usability and business goals.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end design for Open Rewards mobile product experiences
• Translate product goals and user needs into intuitive flows and high-fidelity designs
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering team to ship high-quality features
• Continuously refine and expand our design system and component library
• Use data and user feedback to iterate and improve engagement and retention

What We’re Looking For

• Experience designing consumer-facing mobile apps
• Strong portfolio demonstrating clean, intuitive UI and thoughtful UX decisions
• Deep understanding of mobile interaction patterns, navigation, and design best practices
• Experience working closely with engineers and understanding technical constraints
• Strong product thinking - you don’t just design screens, you solve problems
• Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Attention to detail and a high bar for craft
• High proficiency in tools like Figma
• Experience with AI tools
