Job Description

Who do we want? 🤔
An AHPRA-registered doctor who provides patient care with a focus on tech-enabled access, sustainability and affordability.
When do we want you? 📆
From early May 2026.
What for? 🩺🧑💻
A clinically-facing telehealth role.
Where do we need you? 🦘
Anywhere in Australia. Fully remote.
This is not a typical telehealth job. Medly is building something different.
Medly started 20-something years ago, with a 12-year-old boy with a brainstem tumour, who experienced every angle of the healthcare system - successes and expensive failures alike. The idea that healthcare could be more affordable and accessible has now evolved into a reality. Medly is a self-funded, doctor-led healthcare organisation that is empowering Australians to radically affordable healthcare, while ensuring doctors are fairly compensated for training, knowledge and expertise.
We have developed a clinically governed, pathway-driven telehealth platform designed to improve:
• patient safety
• documentation quality
• escalation pathways
• clinician workflow and burnout
Our goal isn’t just to do telehealth. We’re building infrastructure where technology genuinely improves how healthcare is delivered for everyone involved (including for doctors). A system where you get to focus on diagnostic synthesis and reasoning... not scattered information.
And... we're on the hunt for clinicians who want to join us for a consistent day each week (e.g. Wednesday's), between our operating hours of 8am and 6pm AEST.
Medly is a start-up at the beginning of its journey. The first few months are expected to be quiet as we grow our patient base, and we think this position would work best fitting into your existing clinical, non-clinical or study schedule. As Medly expands, we'll be looking to discuss how Medly can support your career progression both clinically and non-clinically.
Compensation: 💰
Doctors are paid via a per-consult revenue share model.
The fine print:
You do not need a perfect CV. Curiosity, good judgement, and thoughtful clinical practice matter more. If you enjoy working at the intersection of disciplines and thinking about how healthcare systems could work better, we’d love to hear from you.
We have a diverse team of practitioners spanning medicolegal, telehealth, internal medicine, general practice and pathology. Telehealth is still in its infancy, and we think that the best telehealth system won't just come from big corporates or tick and flick clinics that 'set the standard' for virtual care, or from single-discipline specialist input. Medicine has so much more to offer, and we are blending the best experiences of practitioners from all backgrounds to truly improve the affordability and accessibility of healthcare in Australia.
There are some minimum requirements:
• AHPRA general registration (no restrictions, conditions or undertakings preventing independent
practice)
• 2+ years independent practice post-general registration
• Professional indemnity insurance
• Comfortable practising independently, supported by a team of other clinicians when needed
And these are particularly welcome:
• interest or experience in developing and implementing community-based, non-clinical projects
• technology, AI, automation, coding, or digital health experience
• product design or systems thinking
• clinical governance, audit, or quality improvement
• non-medical postgraduate study (MBA, MPH, MSc, JD, engineering, analytics etc.)
