The Role:

We are looking for a Founding Engineer (who is excellent in cross-platform Frontend development) to join Kolo AI and play a pivotal role in developing our innovative search platform. You’ll work on the entire tech stack, from web and mobile UIs, to backend services, AI models, and cloud infrastructure. This role offers the chance to shape the technical foundation of a product that will revolutionize the search experience. This position is for a startup company backed by one of our important investors.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement web and mobile user interfaces.
• Collaborate with the founding team to define and implement key features of the search platform.
• Develop and deploy fine-tuned LLMs for personalized query responses.
• Design and implement knowledge graphs using tools like LlamaIndex to store and query data for search.
• Oversee the full DevOps lifecycle, ensuring a scalable and reliable platform.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).

Requirements:

• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end and mobile frameworks (e.g. React.js, React Native, Flutter).
• Experience with cross-platform web + mobile development.
• Experience in developing, deploying, and operating software components, with an understanding of agile and DevOps practices.
• Strong Python skills; Rust experience is a plus, particularly for latency-sensitive components.
• Knowledge of LLM fine-tuning, model deployment, and audio generation technologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and take on multiple roles as the company scales.
• A passion for solving challenging, unsolved problems and a desire to innovate.
• Early adopter of LLM technology. How do you use it to accelerate your coding productivity today? What have you found works well, and what doesn’t?

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of work experience.
• Experience with knowledge graph technologies (e.g., LlamaIndex).
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and best practices in CI/CD pipelines.
