About Go Swag

Go Swag is reinventing the corporate gifting industry through technology. Founded by two entrepreneurs from the tech world, we believe that software, AI, and smart automation can completely transform how companies celebrate, reward, and build relationships with their teams and clients.

While traditional providers have been slow to change, we are building a future where technology powers personalisation at scale, intelligent gifting, operational excellence, and unforgettable customer experiences.

Today, our customers use Go Swag to celebrate partnerships new and old, first days, last days, and everything in-between. Using creativity, industry expertise, and now cutting-edge tech, we help companies create beautiful, bespoke gift packs that are as impactful as they are sustainable.

Our customers include some of the biggest and most influential companies on the planet, including Meta, ElevenLabs, Intel, and Unilever. They trust Go Swag to deliver experiences that leave a lasting impression, with technology, quality, and sustainability at the heart of every project.

As we enter our next chapter, technology will be our major differentiator, and we are building a team of technologists who are passionate about changing an industry forever. Sustainability and quality also remain at the heart of everything we do. We uniquely focus on using recycled and recyclable products, avoiding gimmicks, and championing high-quality, long-lasting items recipients will genuinely use for years.

As we enter our next chapter, technology will be our major differentiator, and we are building a team of technologists who are passionate about changing an industry forever.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

We are a responsive organisation, and the needs of our customers often change. Therefore, job descriptions and duties are subject to change to allow us to adapt quickly to provide the best possible service.

In particular, you will:

  • Lead the architectural design and development of new Go Swag technology products and internal platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with Design and the C-Suite to shape the tech strategy and make critical product and technical decisions.
  • Build scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions across web and internal systems.
  • Integrate AI into products and internal tools to streamline workflows and create customer-facing innovations.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement modern technologies that align with Go Swag’s vision and growth ambitions.
  • Lay the foundations for future technical hires by setting coding standards, best practices, and a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Work hands-on to design, code, and deploy early-stage prototypes as well as production-grade systems.
  • Foster a spirit of experimentation, encouraging rapid testing and validation of new ideas.
  • Build documentation and internal processes to support sustainable scaling.
  • Liaise with external development partners where needed, ensuring quality and timelines are met.
  • Be a champion for technology across Go Swag, helping non-technical teams embrace new tools and ways of working.

Where this post fits within team Go

We have a team approach to our work and how we deliver it. As Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring technology becomes a key pillar of our next phase of growth. You will be responsible for bringing new digital experiences to life, solving operational challenges with software, and making Go Swag smarter, faster, and better.

Reporting & Accountability

You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams. You are expected to contribute to the broader strategic development of the business and be a role model to demonstrate Go’s values.

Benefits

  • 30 days’ paid holiday per year, including local bank and public holidays
  • Company laptop
  • 12 weeks’ full pay maternity leave
  • 4 weeks’ full pay paternity leave
  • Plenty of growth opportunities, including equity participation
  • Friendly (and dog-friendly!) work environment
  • Opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly scaling, design-led business
  • Personal development budget for learning new technologies and attending conferences

Location

We're building a fully remote Product team, so you can be based anywhere within the United Kingdom. While you'll have the flexibility to work from wherever suits you best, we believe strongly in fostering a connected, collaborative culture. There will be regular opportunities for in-person get-togethers with both the Product team and the wider Go Swag team, helping us stay aligned and build strong relationships as a distributed team.

Requirements

About You - What kind of person likes to work here?

First and foremost, you should desire to succeed and see Go as part of your success story. You should be proactive, flexible, imaginative, and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You should love software and technology, and believe deeply in its potential to empower people and businesses.

Knowledge & Skills

Preferred experience with:

  • Python
  • Django
  • Next.js
  • React
  • Vercel
  • Proven experience in a senior or lead engineering role, ideally at a high-growth company or startup.
  • Strong proficiency across modern backend and frontend development (we're open on stack but value strong fundamentals).
  • A strong understanding of system architecture and scalable application design.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps best practices.
  • Exposure to or passion for AI/ML tools, APIs, and platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and pragmatically.
  • Excellent communication skills, you must be able to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience setting technical standards and mentoring other engineers (even if informally).
  • Ability to work independently, with a bias for action and outcomes.
