Behindthechair.com is looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our team! This role is perfect for a passionate designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves working on a variety of digital and print projects.

As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling designs for email campaigns, social media content, website graphics, branding, digital ads, event materials, and more. You’ll collaborate closely with our marketing and content teams to bring ideas to life, ensuring consistency and innovation across all brand touchpoints.

We’re looking for a strong conceptual thinker with an exceptional eye for design, typography, and branding—someone who can balance creativity with strategy and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. What You’ll Do:

This role will work hand in hand the CEO / Founder Mary Rector and alongside our behindthechair.com Leadership Team for their various department needs including but not limited to: 

• Email Marketing & Blasts
• Design and set up email campaigns for top haircare brands, including Redken, Paul Mitchell, and over 40 others.
• Ensure visually appealing, high-converting designs optimized for email platforms.
• Digital & Print Design
• Create multi-page PDFs, from concept to completion, for digital downloadables.
• Design a variety of print materials, including postcards, trade show meterboards, hanging banners, event programs, stickers, books, and magazines.
• Branding & Event Development
• Brainstorm and develop logos, event themes, and branding for upcoming projects.
• Research, conceptualize, and present potential brand directions for new initiatives.
• Website & App Design
• Design and manage website and app content, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Social Media & Digital Marketing
• Develop engaging social media assets, including Instagram posts/stories, Facebook ads/posts, and Facebook Live graphics.
• Create banner ad campaigns.
• BTC University Support
• Design assets for upcoming online classes, ensuring a professional and engaging user experience.
• Additional Creative Support
• Work on a variety of creative projects as needed to support marketing, branding, and promotional efforts.

Who You Are (job requirements/qualifications):

• B.A. in Graphic Design (or equivalent) with 4-5 years of professional experience in digital and print design.
• Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Express, DreamWeaver) on Mac.
• Working knowledge of After Effects & Premiere for motion graphics and video editing.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for web design and email marketing.
• Experience with Figma, Sketch, or other UX/UI design tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or HubSpot is a bonus.
• Familiarity with Canva is a bonus. 
• Strong conceptual thinking, typography expertise, and design skills.
• Ability to develop and execute branding strategies across multiple platforms.
• Experience designing for social media, digital ads, and print marketing materials.
• Highly organized, able to multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• A passion for design, a positive attitude, and a desire to grow and innovate!
