Liz Fox Roseberry's Journey
When Liz Fox Roseberry decided to quit her graphic design job during COVID-19, she had no idea that a new chapter as a jewelry designer awaited her. With nearly 500,000 followers on TikTok, her story is one of passion, creativity, and unexpected success.
The Turning Point
In 2021, after over a decade in graphic design, Liz felt disillusioned. She stated, “It wasn’t my passion,” reflecting on her lack of excitement for her work. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, she took contract jobs that aligned with her creativity while searching for her true calling.
A Spark of Inspiration
A visit to an Alexander Calder exhibit in New York reignited Liz's creativity. She discovered a love for wire sculptures and began experimenting with making earring jackets. “I just got hooked,” she recalls, diving into her new craft with enthusiasm.
Going Viral
By early 2023, Liz started showcasing her creations on TikTok. The response was overwhelming; her followers encouraged her to sell her pieces. With only $400 in her bank account, she opened her Etsy shop, and within no time, orders flooded in thanks to her growing online presence.
Handmade Success
In just two years, Liz has crafted tens of thousands of earring jackets, all handmade. Her designs range from simple bows to intricate forms like snakes and cherries. The innovative mix-and-match style allows customers to pair her jackets with their own studs, enhancing versatility.
A Family Affair
Now running a successful business, Liz has expanded her team to five, including her husband, a web developer who recently joined her venture. Together, they are working toward launching a dedicated website for her jewelry line.
Celebrity Spotlight
One of the highlights of Liz's journey was seeing her earring jackets worn by Lily Collins in the show Emily in Paris. Thanks to her brother, Daniel Roseberry, the creative director of Schiaparelli, this moment solidified her belief in her career pivot.
Future Aspirations
Looking ahead, Liz aims to scale her business by 2025 while maintaining her commitment to quality. “The sky is the limit,” she says, excited for what lies ahead in her entrepreneurial journey.
