Ferrari's first EV

The first all-electric Ferrari is set to make its grand debut later this year, and excitement is building as the prototype has been spotted testing with an updated design. Let’s take a closer look at what we can expect.

Ferrari’s First EV Caught Testing Ahead of Its Official Debut

So far, Ferrari has remained mostly tight-lipped about their first electric car. CEO Benedetto Vigna assures fans that it will be “a lot of fun” to drive, staying true to the Ferrari spirit. Vigna explains, “People buy a Ferrari because when they buy a Ferrari, they have a lot of fun.”

Despite the delays, Vigna emphasizes that the first EV will be built “the right way,” incorporating all the signature design elements and sounds that are characteristic of a Ferrari, but in an all-electric format.

The latest sightings, courtesy of Varryx, showcase the prototype with new headlights and body panels, although it remains camouflaged. Observers noted visible wires and brackets at the front, hinting at the advanced technology within.

Additionally, the prototype still features fake tailpipes, with an exhaust-like sound that suggests a similar approach to other electric vehicles, such as the Dodge Charger.

Inside Ferrari's new e-building

Last summer, Ferrari inaugurated its new e-building, which will be the production site for the first electric car, along with e-motors, batteries, and inverters. This electric crossover SUV is expected to be similar to the Purosangue and is slated for its official debut later this year as a 2026 model.

By 2026, Ferrari anticipates that EVs and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) will make up 60% of their sales.
