No Escape Key on the Real-Life Severance Keyboard
Atomic Keyboard has crafted a real-life Severance-inspired keyboard featuring a trackball and notably absent Escape, Control, and Option keys. This creation, named MDR Dasher, draws inspiration from the Data General ‘Dasher’ Terminal of the 70s and 80s, boasting a total of 73 keys. The keyboard's design showcases a dark blue backdrop with chunky dirty white borders, creating a striking contrast.
The main buttons are in a lighter blue, while the remaining keys are darker, and only arrow keys are present on the number pad, centrally positioned. The unique trackball, a signature of the Severance keyboard, replaces the traditional mouse, sitting next to the number pad. Atomic Keyboard is currently preparing for the pre-launch of this keyboard.

70 Percent Compact Design Ratio, Just Like in the Show
The keyboard featured in the Apple TV+ series Severance takes its design cues from the original Data General Dasher terminal keyboards. These devices are recognized for their distinctive look, unconventional key layout, and robust build. The show’s production team has reimagined these devices to create the fictional workstations for employees in the Macrodata Refinement (MDR) department at Lumon Industries. Atomic Keyboard is now bringing this imaginative creation to life.
This new Severance keyboard will be available to select individuals, allowing them to channel their inner Innie or Outie. The keyboard features an aluminum case and follows a 70 percent compact design ratio, mirroring the show’s aesthetic. Additionally, it includes custom-designed keycaps and connects via USB-C, ensuring compatibility with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems. The sign-up for the pre-launch of this limited-run Severance keyboard is now open.
