Job Title: UI/UX Designer (Volunteer)

At Tech Balance, we're on a mission to revolutionise student wellbeing with our innovative app, Balance. Backed by the UK's Innovation Agency and recently named among the top 50 most innovative tech businesses in Essex, our startup has already made a meaningful impact on over 1,000 students. We're excited to embark on pilot studies with universities and seek a UI/UX Designer to help us shape the future of student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing engaging, intuitive mobile interfaces.
• Creating wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Enhancing sales and marketing materials with creative design input.
• Conducting UX research, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
• Iterating designs based on user feedback and performance data.
• Staying up to date with industry trends and design best practices.

Key Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in UX/UI design (mobile and/or web).
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• A strong grasp of UX principles, including user flows, accessibility, and information architecture.
• Design fundamentals expertise, including colour theory, typography, and layout.
• Data-driven insight, turning user research into actionable design improvements.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
• Strong familiarity with conducting user research.
• Experience and interest in startups, HealthTech, or EdTech.
