Senior 2D Artist - Character Design (Remote)

About Us:

QA Strike is a Romanian video game outsourcing studio known for providing top-tier Quality Assurance support. We are now expanding our services to include 2D Art and Animation for mobile games and are looking for a talented Senior 2D Artist to join our growing team.

Please note: This is a remote position, accepting applicants from across Romania.

Responsibilities:

• Design characters, backgrounds, and UI components based on existing assets, as well as create new items and styles from scratch.
• Create high-quality art in a range of styles (Realistic, Semi-Realistic, Cartoon, etc.) to fit the project theme.
• Collaborate with clients to create stunning, imaginative character designs, focusing on creature design for mobile games.
• Interpret client-provided moodboards, briefs, and character concepts to craft high-quality 2D assets.
• Create sketches to express creative ideas to the Project Manager, Art Lead, and other team members.
• Refine designs based on client feedback, ensuring their vision is accurately represented.
• Work closely with animators to ensure seamless transitions from static designs to animations.
• Ensure easy integration of art assets into the game without sacrificing artistic vision or exceeding technical limits.
• Examine competitive products to draw inspiration and keep up with current design trends.
• Preserve knowledge by defining and setting standards for documentation and processes.
• Provide support to product development, product maintenance, and product marketing efforts in all matters of art deliverables.
• Demonstrate initiative and creativity by proposing new ideas, themes, and styles.
• Mentor and guide other artists by sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and making corrections where needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience of at least 3 years as a 2D Artist, with a focus on character and creature design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing creature and character designs.
• High level of character design, game UI, and logo design.
• Understanding of game UI design, typography, and readability.
• Familiarity with 3D design concepts is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Team player with the ability to take feedback constructively and implement it effectively.

• Experience in designing assets for mobile games.
