Miricyl is on a mission to empower young people with an online platform for mental health resources and support, fostering a community where well-being comes first.

We’re in the midst of an exciting transformation, moving away from traditional charity methods and fully embracing modern product practices. That means investing in technology, user-centred design, and compelling storytelling to build a mental health companion that truly makes an impact.

Why Mental Health?

Mental illness is the number one health issue for young people in the UK, yet 75% of those affected don’t receive NHS support. This gap drives our determination to ensure nobody slips through the cracks.

By combining cutting-edge digital products with innovative design, we aim to create a personable, creative, and engaging experience for young adults, families, and caregivers. Your work will help shape the way mental health resources are accessed and experienced.

The Role

We’re looking for a Graphic (or Illustration / Product) Designer to take charge of illustrations and thumbnails for our growing mental health resource library. Your work will be a key touchpoint for users discovering external resources, partners, and articles - making mental health support more visually engaging and accessible.

You’ll work independently but collaborate with product, design, and development teams. If you’re an experienced professional who has led projects independently or a junior designer/student eager to take on a challenge, this is an incredible opportunity to make an impact.

What You’ll Do

🎨 Illustrations & Thumbnails – Create beautiful thumbnails for our resource library, ensuring they engage and resonate with young users.

📌 Website & Marketing Visuals – Design illustrations that bring our content to life across web and marketing channels.

🔄 Branding & Consistency – Work within our design system while creating a unique illustration style for Miricyl.

🎥 (Desirable) Animation & Motion Graphics – If you have animation skills, help create engaging motion content.

🤝 Collaboration – Work with our Product Lead, Product Owner, and Leadership, alongside design and development teams in an Agile environment.

Who We’re Looking For

✅ Design Ownership – You can lead your own projects, from concept to final delivery, with minimal direction.

✅ Portfolio – An outstanding portfolio showcasing your work and great communication, tailored to your audience.

✅ Technical Skills – Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a must. Confluence/Jira experience is a plus.

✅ Creative & Detail-Oriented – You love creating visually stunning work in web and app that competes with the best out there.

✅ Growth-Minded – Whether you’re experienced or a junior designer, you’re ready to take on responsibility and grow.

✅ Interest in Mental Health – A passion for mental health is a bonus but not required.
