About the roleDesign work that actually makes it to shelf

We’re looking for a Freelance Senior Designer (Print & Packaging) who loves bringing brands to life in the real world from beautifully crafted packaging to high-impact print.

This is a 6-month contract role where you’ll take the lead on packaging and print across a diverse brand portfolio. You’ll be hands-on with everything from concept to final production, balancing creativity with the technical detail needed to get products manufactured, compliant, and shelf-ready.

If you enjoy solving complex packaging challenges, care about the finer details (colour, finishes, compliance), and like mentoring others along the way, this role will suit you well**.Key responsibilities**

• Leading design and artwork for packaging across multiple brands — including labels, cartons, and multi-panel systems
• Taking work from concept through to print-ready delivery, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout
• Managing regulatory and compliance requirements across the UK, USA, Canada, and Mexico
• Designing with production in mind — dielines, substrates, finishes, and manufacturing constraints
• Creating print collateral such as brochures, POS, and campaign materials
• Collaborating with marketing, product, and compliance teams to bring ideas to life
• Liaising with printers and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery
• Producing digital assets and mockups to support e-commerce and internal teams
• Supporting junior designers and helping maintain design consistency and quality standardsQualification and experience:

• Strong experience in print and packaging design
• Strong portfolio showing real-world packaging projects
• Deep understanding of artworking, pre-press, and print production workflows
• Experience working with regulated packaging (FMCG, food, healthcare or similar)
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Familiarity with Figma or similar tools
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with complex specifications
• Comfortable collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Experience in FMCG, food & drink, infant nutrition, or healthcare
• Knowledge of sustainable packaging practices
• Experience with 3D packaging/mockup tools (e.g. Esko, CorelDRAW, Fusion 360)
• Understanding of premium print finishes (foiling, embossing, etc.)
• Familiarity with production timelines and supply chains
• Experience working across international markets
