Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (AI HealthTech)

Client: AI HealthTech Scale-Up – Backed by Top-Tier Investors, Led by World-Class Engineers

Salary: Up to £100k + Bonus + Equity

Location: Remote (UK-based) with an optional Holborn office

Sells: Work on cutting-edge AI systems that power healthcare innovation at scale. Full remote flexibility across the UK, total ownership of greenfield projects, modern tech stack (Python/FastAPI/Cloud), and a culture that rewards curiosity, autonomy, and clean engineering.

An AI HealthTech company is expanding its high-calibre engineering team and looking for Software Engineers who thrive on building elegant, scalable systems from the ground up.

You’ll be joining a small, world-class team working on distributed backend platforms, data-driven AI tools, and core infrastructure supporting advanced medical technologies. This is a true software engineering role where you'll be designing, building, and scaling complex systems that solve real problems in healthcare.

Role

  • Design and build production-grade backend systems using Python and FastAPI
  • Develop distributed, high-performance services and APIs for AI-driven platforms
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, scalability planning, and system optimisation
  • Implement best practices in testing, CI/CD, and performance monitoring
  • Collaborate closely with product, AI, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across the engineering organisation

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer building modern backend systems
  • Strong Python skills (FastAPI preferred; Flask or Django also considered)
  • Knowledge of system design, data modelling, and distributed architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices — testing, CI/CD, clean code
  • A genuine interest in AI systems, automation, and applying engineering to real-world impact

Sells

  • Fully remote working across the UK, with an optional Holborn office
  • Chance to shape core architecture in a high-impact HealthTech environment
  • Flat, engineering-led structure with autonomy and trust
  • Work on complex, meaningful technical problems that matter
  • Strong equity offering and long-term growth opportunities
  • Culture built around innovation, ownership, and collaboration
