Remote UI/UX Designer
Job Description
Posted on: April 23, 2025
Artificial Intelligence Works Staffing Inc. is hiring on behalf of a venture‑backed health‑tech startup that turns real‑time EHR, imaging, and IoT streams into clinician‑focused applications. We’re seeking a UI/UX Designer who can translate complex clinical workflows into intuitive, accessible, and delightful interfaces—helping care teams work smarter and patients stay informed. Designers here partner closely with product, engineering, and compliance, and often grow into design‑lead or product roles within 12–18 months based on impact.
What You’ll Do
- User Research & Strategy: Plan and conduct user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability tests to uncover clinician and patient needs.
- Information Architecture: Define content hierarchies, user flows, and navigation models that balance complexity and clarity.
- Wireframing & Prototyping: Create low‑ to high‑ fidelity prototypes (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) to validate interactions and iterate rapidly.
- Visual Design & Design Systems: Craft pixel‑perfect UI components, establish a scalable design system (Storybook, Zeroheight), and ensure consistency across products.
- Collaboration & Handoff: Work hand‑in‑hand with engineers to translate designs into production (HTML, CSS modules, React components), maintain clear documentation, and refine designs based on implementation feedback.
Your Toolkit
- Design & Prototyping: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, Miro
- Collaboration: Zeplin or Storybook, Zeroheight, Jira, Confluence
- Front‑end Fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3 (Tailwind CSS or similar), basic JavaScript/TypeScript literacy
- Research & Testing: UserTesting.com, Lookback, Hotjar, axe-core
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3+ years in UI/UX design for complex web applications—ideally in healthcare, enterprise SaaS, or regulated industries.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end projects: research insights, wireframes, prototypes, and final visual designs.
- UX Expertise: Deep understanding of user‑centered design, information architecture, and interaction patterns.
- Visual Skills: Strong typography, color theory, and iconography sense; ability to produce production‑ready assets.
- Accessibility Advocate: Hands‑on experience with WCAG guidelines and accessible component design.
- Communication: Excellent at storytelling—translating research into actionable design decisions and engaging stakeholders.
Compensation
- Base: $155,000–$170,000
- Quarterly performance bonus up to 15%
- Full‑time, 12‑month contract with clear path to permanent employment
